Jack-Wills wrote The latest detailed forecasts for winter 2013 ALL point towards months of relentless extreme cold with heavy snow 'extremely likely' across the country.

Arctic air will roar in from the North Pole later this week, triggering the start of the worst winter in many people's lifetimes.

Experts in long-range weather forecasting said the WHOLE of Britain should be prepared for this winter to be the most severe since 1947, which saw the UK hit by relentless snow and some of the lowest temperatures on record.

What do you guys think?
I personally think it will just be one day of heavy snow, then back to rain.

Rubbish journalism from that newspaper. Scaremongering at its finest. Nothing suggests we will have a hard winter at this stage

iN1NJA wrote They have predicted a long and cold winter for Canada too. We usually see the worst of it in Calgary when it drops to -40 degrees outside. Not looking forward to that

Wouldn't the body freeze in seconds at that temperature? I'm not an expert or anything but that is pretty damn cold

If you were to go outside without clothes on yeah it would likely be a matter of seconds... If you pour hot water outside, it will freeze before it touches the ground

Its fun for a day or 2, lets be honest, everyone wants at least 1 snow day off school.
But its nice to see it snowing, just gets annoying after a while..

Have you not seen the forecast? Nothing about snow, what so ever.

Don't get me wrong, I would love some good ol' snow. But this is a bunch of c**p
