Currently I'm running a GTX 570 in my new system (2 months old?), and the inevitability of having to upgrade is already setting in. You can see my full system specs here. I want to upgrade mainly because my 570 struggles with new games such as CoD Ghosts and BF4, and doesn't run my other games 100% to my liking. I don't know how but apparently call of duty actually became resource hungry. I barely maintain 60FPS constant on all low settings at 1080p, quite upsetting. BF4 is relatively disgusting to run seeing as I have to turn down all of the detailing for it to be playable, all I see is a freakin oil painting and soldiers running around.

With only 650w, I don't have infinite headroom, then again wattage/power consumption has been the one thing it can't master. I was looking at these in order of price:
GTX Titan (good b/c independent cooler, draws air from mesh)
R9 290X (would not buy reference cooler- loud)
GTX 780 Ti
7970 GHz edition

Mind you, I have an ITX build and top notch hardware, so I'd rather just upgrade once and let it be for a few years. Let me know of any thoughts or recommendations. Note: money is not an issue. I'm going for future proofing and what my PSU can handle. If push comes to shove and shove comes to slitting throats, I may upgrade my PSU to one of the corsair AX series (which I should've gotten to begin with) as they are all puny and the same size. Thoughts?

In my mind, anything above a 770 or a 280X is a complete waste for 1080p gaming, so unless you have a 1440p or multi monitor setup, those are the 2 i would recommend.

But in all fairness, i would wait a bit for the 290X to get aftermarket coolers as they have some serious fire power at their disposal. The 780Ti beats the Titan and 290X at 1440p (So the point of a Titan is beyond me) So that's the one i would go for, but only if playing at 1440p and above.

The 7990 is also still a fantastic card, pretty much 7970 GHz Editions in Crossfire, but there has been many issues with the frame buffer i think it was lol.

The point of the GTX Titan is to be able to say "I have a GTX Titan" That is about it to be honest

In some games yes, but even some of the new games the 780 or 290x can't hit the magical 60 FPS in maxed out settings in 1080p.

I would get the 290. You can overclock the hell out of it (non reference cooler obviously) and it performs almost as well as the 290x.

I would actually be inclined to throw a waterblock at it and watercool it. Benchmarks on a watercooled 290x show 18000 score in 3D Mark 11: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

That's much higher than the 780 Ti.

It's probably best price to performance card on the market right now.

780Ti beats Titan and from what I've seen the 780Ti is on top of everything else in terms of benchmarks(LinusTechTips) and Titan's are mainly for rich dumbasses(since the 780Ti's release) and for developers

All depends on what res you're playing games at, anything near 4k is the 290X Territory. It will wipe the floor with everything, even the 7990.
