For some reason I have just wondered what actually makes people good on call of duty?

Its mad how players ability can vary so much, which part of an individual determines how good they are on the game?

Reactions obviously come into play but surely this is not the only thing?

Someone please enlighten me..

Utilise everything at your disposal. This is especially important about equipment. If you average 1.00 K/D, an extra kill per death through claymores will put you at 2.00.

3
Use the best guns. People might give you a hard time for it, but you'll have the advantage.

4
Run UAV Jammer or UAV. Both of these kill streaks are underused, but can give you a massive advantage. It's recommended to use Jammer over UAV, because it will give you an advantage.

5
Don't sprint around corners. So many people do this without thinking. Take your time and go round the corner already aiming down sights. You'll gain a massive advantage.

6
Shoot down choppers. If your using Ghost Pro, you can really help out your team by taking out a chopper without much self-risk. Keep a class slot free just to take down all choppers.

7
Find your play style. Find out what you are good at. If you're quick on your feet it's recommended for a sub-machine gun class. If your more of a patient player, use an assault rifle or LMG.

8
Don't use red dot sights. Learning to use the iron sights can be a real pain, but it is most definitely worth it. Take an attachment like Dual Mag, Grip or Masterkey to really get the advantage.

9
Sound is your friend. If you have a pair of gaming headphones, you'll realize what this means. You'll hear someone shooting at you and can react before they even hit you sometimes.

10
Find a comfortable sensitivity. 2-3 sensitivity it gives you better accuracy than higher sensitivity, but if you get shot from a place other than in front of you, you might not be able to react in time. If you use a higher sensitivity, you will be able to turn faster, giving you an advantage, but your accuracy might go down as well.

Spawn kill like you have spawn killed before

i think this topic is in the wrong section... but ill answer anyway.

i think a good cod player is someone who can maintain a high K.D but still have fun at the same time. i think its stupid how people call other players bad just cos they dont quickscope. really annoys me cos most of the time they are the ones who hardscope for pretty much every kill with the exeption of 1-2 kills

Map awareness, situational awareness, decision making, gun skill, reaction times, timing. There are a lot more but I can't come up with them right now. Also these are for individual skill, team skill is a whole different ball game.

See, I'd normally agree with you... If we were still all playing BO1 or MW2, where quick scooping was actually legit.. Now I think its probably one of the easiest and 'tryhard' (I hate using this and "easy" in the same sentence) things to do. Takes no skill, but still people feel the need to 'tryhard' at it by sitting and watching pathways and doorways.

I feel to be good at call of duty you need to ability to walk across -every- map you play, simply dominating every player you come across.

Sitting in a corner, or in the back of your spawn and going 50-1 does not make you good.

i agree, i think a good player needs to know every bit of a map and should be able to know how to use his/her's surrounding to their advantage

Ah you see I had not thought of half of them, seems weird when thinking how much actually comes into play.

I have a KD of 2.83 on Mw2 & 2.54 on Mw1, the Mw1 is lower as I tend to use the M40A3 a lot on it.

The guns I use on Mw2 the M16, Famas, UMP & Intervention.

I don't camp but I wouldn't say I rushed everywhere unless I was using the UMP, I have a strategy of some sort.

I use a Turtle Beach x12 which helps a lot!

Main game mode if FFA, prefer this as it seems fast paced. My Speciality is probably S&D but I don't play that as much no more as it only takes one person to camp and you have to wait to respawn.

For me personally I think you have to just be naturally good because no matter what I use I can average a 2.00 and up K/D. There nothing personally that I use to get it for me.

Yeah I see what you mean, even games where I feel like messing round I can get a good KD at the end of it with most guns.
