It's fun to do at times, but I agree that it gets annoying when you join a lobby and are instantly attacked. If that's the case I will simply mute them.

Winning an arguement with an 11 year old is fairly hard as they dont stop the arguement.

But when It happens... It is glorious. I know people say it's futile and useless... but my God it's a pain to try to win one

COD isn't the only notorious community. Try the majority of MOBA games out there, especially Dota 2 and League of Legends. Most of the encounters I had on that game were enraged team players that started insulting you over a minor mistake, support who doesn't want to get courier (vital in Dota 2). Generally overall, the textbox in every game has quite colorful vocabulary. Too bad the majority of them are labeled as selfish.

Perfect example of the discussion on the Dota 2 community.

I have noticed that Xbox Live has more trash talking than those who are on the PSN (in terms of Call of Duty games). I never take anything seriously that comes my way when the moment I join the lobby and somebody starts calling out my name, then the extended effect of verbal abuse.

I only mute people so that my family members don't hear the excessive voice chat that may sound normal at first, but then turns into a screaming child. Truthfully, I will be the guy that uses a laptop to troll around and have fun and in turn, the "squeakers" will actually turn from screaming into laughing.

I can't even count how many times I have heard "that's what your mom said last night" or "Owh my gawd bro, your trash"

Its sickening...
