I just got a brand new dell 23 in. screen desktop and the monitor has a HDMI port, I hooked my Xbox into it and everything worked fine except the fact that there was NO SOUND. So I unplugged the HDMI from the monitor and looked on the back of the actual computer tower, and there was another HDMI port. So I hooked it into there, and turned on my Xbox, but when I did there was no input. So is there any other way I can hook my Xbox up to my computer monitor and get sound? Thanks.

The monitor might not output sound via the HDMI but a secondary port like a 3.5mm jack or a USB. Look for that. And what did you expect expect out of running the HDMI from your 360 to your computer? Or am I missing something there.

I was told there was a setting on the computer to where I can switch from rather the sound comes from the PC audio, or HDMI audio, that's where I was confused at as well. I have speakers that are USB powered, are you saying place one end to my Xbox, and the other to the 3.5mm jack?

Are the speakers on the monitor or are they separate?

Well if you are trying to use those speakers with the 360, you need to find some way to hook them up to the 360. And the 360 only supports composite and HDMI for sound unless you have some sort of funky 3rd party adapter.
