Hey guys, havent been around for a year now....

Anytime i have a question i come straight to yall...

Well i have an alienware m14x r1, that is being quite sluggish when it shouldnt be...

Specs-
Intel i7 2630qm 2.0 ghz turboed to 2.8 (can be faster, for heat reasons, it isnt)
Nvidia Geforce 555m 1.5gb card
6gb ram (not that it matters)
Directx 11

Well ive been taking a break from pc gaming, but with a recent sickness of mono, ive been quite bored lately.

So ive been looking to play some RPGs

First up is Dragon age 2.

Well i start the game, notice its entirely laggy... Check settings, it was automatically set at very high.

Swap to medium with alot less lag.. for a couple mins.. then it gets laggy again..
Swap to low with the same lag. not playable

I checked to make sure it was running with the nvvidia and not intel hd 4000 graphics

Im playing on A 32 inch, vga connected, (HDMI resolution gets cut off)With a pretty fresh install of windows 7

Im updating drivers now, any other solutions? Maybe no external display?

Keep in mind this laptop can run skyrim on ultra (high in cutscenes), lately tho, its been bad.... Especially since DA 2 isnt to demanding...

Help an old timer out!

First you should check if you are running from the dedicated GPU, if you are, then check the temp. High temp can lead to auto shutdown or drop in fps.
