Glance upon the beast. The beast with a server grade i7, the 7930, a HAF XB, a borrowed RAT 3, some old Turtle Beaches, and some Tesco Value Spaghetti.

Only the motherboard is left to purchase. For under 120 pounds, is there a better alternative to the G45?

Both will do everything the G45 can!

G45 = more PCI-e 3.0, for example I could have Crossfire and a PCI-e x4 sound card/SSD or even three way Crossfire. Only a tenner more than each so may as well.

Well it's your money, but in my eyes you're wasting a lot of it lol.

The G45 is a gamers/overclocking board, hence the Z87 chipset. Xeon's are not overclockable to such an extent.

But get some more spaghetti...

Not buying so much for chipset, but for PCI-e slots.

Really? A RAT 3? That was the only mouse that you could've thought to buy for the price? If you haven't gotten it yet, send it back to the factory as soon as you get it and pick up a half decent mouse.

Read the post. The R.A.T. 3 is borrowed for free from a friend. I plan on buying a Razer Abyssus.

I would strongly advise against a Razer Abyssus as well. I know it's the dreaded reddit, but check out [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
