For all around badassery the AMR16 is the best I've found but bring extra ammo, if you're a good shot the G36 is pretty good, comes with lots of ammo just not too high of damage.

ive been using the car 15 with the stealth barrel any better guns?

AMR 16 with mods and ammo bags is amazing.
M308 is also an amazing choice.
Car 4 with stealth barrel if you want to do stealth missions.

My favourite assault rifle is AMR16.

But, all depends upon what standards you play.
