So as you all know a ups flight went down earlier and both pilots were killed. Now apperantly, the plane gave them a low altitude warning multiple times and the pilots didnt do anything. Do you think that the plane malfunctioned or what? Give me your oppinion.

Haven't really heard about this so more information would of been nice. Can't really decided by just knowing what happened.

I'm not an expert by any means but is seven seconds enough to react?

I think so, seven seconds is enough to pull the yoke back

Yes, however with a super heavy vehicle like that that doesn't respond to movement as quickly as a 1 or 2 seater plane, as well as travelling at quite a speed, it would have been hard to make any maneuver within 7 seconds.

I don't know much about the incident, but there's more factors involved than just pulling back on the controls. With the amount depending on their speed, they have velocity, which can be hard to fight. They're not going up until they go down. Also, had they pulled up with not enough speed, they could have stalled.

Then there's the popular "jets take time to react" argument. While this is true, it's not as crucial as people think. Even in that 7 second window, the jets had barely enough time to react. Whether or not the jets would have been able to output enough thrust to do anything was a different matter.

There were other points I wanted to make, but I've forgotten them in the time it took me to read the article and write this. I'll get back to you.

I think they were asleep or not paying attention because after the warning they didnt react for 7 seconds and there was no communication with the control tower and no distress signal
