Hey guys I have an iPhone 5 and the screen cracked a few months ago. i started picking at it and now almost half of the glass is picked off the home button also got ripped off and the orange sticky thing under the home button also got lost so the home button is not functionable. Everything else was good sometimes the screen didnt respond and it will text its own letters and move the screen but it only happened occasionaly. My mom forgot to get insurance so i didnt have it and couldnt get a new phone. Just a few minutes ago my phone screen went black and it wouldnt turn back on and when I finally got it to turn back on, the apple logo was there and about three lines of text were at the top. Then the screen just fades away. It keeps doing this. I let it die and then I am charging it right now but can anyone tell me if there is any way to fix this? Remember the home button doesnt work so I cant put it in DFU mode. Thanks anyone that helps me will get massive amounts of rep

EDIT: The phone turned on and is functioning.

Applecare does not come with iPhones.

You can buy a brand new iPhone 5 screen and home button for around $170.

Ebay.

The screens range from 100-150.

Home buttons are like 10 tops.

Or go to your local mall. The little random phone shops in the middle of the aisle can usually fix them within a shorter time frame, like walk around and its done.

Would I have to fix it myself?

But I have heard that they use a different glass and the colors are a little off. My friend got it fixed at a mall and the colors are a little off and the phone doesnt sleep when he is on the phone
