EDIT: This SHOULD have been in black ops 2 (except the 4 bar thingy), the developers are stupid for not putting this in.

When host migration was introduced in MW2, when the host was lagging quite badly, the game would carry on, making it incredibly frustrating for other players. Eventually, if EVERYONE'S connection dropped to 1 bar for longer than 3 seconds, it would KICK the host out and migrate.

In MW3, if most players were on 2/3 bars, and it wasn't a geographical issue (host in uk, some players in us), it would migrate host without waiting for 1 bar connections, and the previous host would not be kicked, but instead would remain in the game.

You can normally see when you're host when everyone's connection dropped and you'd be on 4 bar, or at the start of the game if you were the only one on 4 bar. However, unfortuanetly, MW3 removed this. This was OK, as bad hosts would migrate quicker, and bad hosts would remain in game, after migration.

Why didn't black ops 2 have this? Bad hosts get migrated and kicked, but it takes MUCH longer, because you have to wait for everyone to go to 1 bar. Unlike MW3, when you get most people on 2 bar, that's it, host migration in coming, no one gets kicked.

So please, in ghosts, migrate on a bad connection, don't kick the previous host, migrate on a 2 bar, NOT 1 bar, connection.

It would be nice if the host always stayed on 4 bar (was removed in MW3, but didn't effect host or other players at all). This was removed in MW3, but wasn't a problem, as host wouldn't be kicked, even after migration.

I know this post isn't the longest, and most entertaining. But please comment with your views.

I accidently started utorrent before, while playing infected MW3, downloads started immediatly, I never get host (15mb download, 1mb upload) but upon opening it, downloads started, I didn't notice until everyones connection dropped. I quickly paused it, a second before, there was a host migration. After migration, no one had left. Meaning it kicked no one, who would have been me.

Yea, I agree with this. It is quite annoying in BO2 when you're lagging throughout most of the game and then when there is 2 minutes left in the match, the host finally gets changed to a better one. I'd just like to see better hosts being picked in general. It seems in BO2, it picks the person with the fastest connection, not the most stable one that would be better for everyone in general.

The host migrations were definetely better in MW3, the main thing that concerned me with them in BO2 is when everybody gets kicked to the pre-game lobby after a failed host migration.

I agree. The lag in BO2 was downright awful sometimes

I totally agree with the statement. I want a better experience, that's why I haven't played BO2 in 5 months...
