What multiplayer features do both of these games have? Is it online free-play type of multiplayer(think GTA) or is it co-op for the story or is there no multiplayer at all?

The only Multiplayer Crackdown has is Co-op story mode. Dead rising, I'm not sure if there is even a multiplayer

Crackdown has a multiplayer Co-op story/free roam/time attack on boss levels.

Dead Rising 2 is co-op/free roam.

Both are very fun.
