I've got it dismantled and when I push the disc tray fully back and into the fully closed position it gets stuck on something.

Does anyone have any pointers?

The answer that fixes it will get rewarded generously with rep!

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure all drives do this, not sure why, but I've come across this with every drive I've ever opened. There is a small runner at the front of the tray which if you slide across releases the drive again to move freely.

The runner is the white part in this photo

If you mean how do you stop it from sticking, then like I said all drives do it so I don't think it is something that can be 'fixed'. If it is still sticking when you have power to the drive and are pressing the open/close button, then you do indeed have a problem and I'm not sure how to fix that, I've replaced two drives for friends for that exact problem.
