I'm new to Jtags & all. Wondering if anyone can direct me to a explanation of what I need to get and all after I buy a Jtag or where I can buy one. Any help would be nice.

but depends what your looking for if you want a JTAG for online lobby hosting you should get a Zephyr or Xenon but if you want one for playing offline ( like games offline) get A Jasper

don't buy one.
spend a few weeks watching tuts over and over again like xex menu installation, games, modding, FSD, emulators.

It depends on what you actually want to do with it.
If it's basic stuff like modded Call of Duty lobbies etc. then I uggest you to visit the JTAG section we've got here and then you take a look at different tutorials before you decide which JTAG you would like to buy.
Also, go for a Jasper JTAG, preferably 16MB or a RGH Slim.
