Ok so I am a console player and have been ever since gaming, but I plan on looking at some desktops/laptops tomorrow for gaming purposes. I would like to know what I should be looking at to see if the pc I get meets the requirements for gaming. I plan on playing all sorts of games for civilization to CoD. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Do you have a budget of any sort? Would you need a monitor, keyboard and mouse? Would you like to build a pc or buy a pre-built one? (I highly recommend building a pc)

My budget is around 700 and I have older monitor and mouse/keyboard but it's about 3yrs old so I'm looking to buy everything new. And I would rather not build my own computer see as I don't have the knowledge/time.

is that 700 USD or other currencies, if you look around you will usually find a place that builds custom pcs, this is still a much better option than buying a pre made, i mean sure you get charged for them building it but usually not much in comparison to most retailers adding their cut on, in the UK if you go to pc world or currys you will pay 1k for a gaming laptop thats really only worth 600.
