Maybe try running the program as administrator?

have you tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, just make sure all your vids are saved some where.

Sorry to jump into a months old topic, but I've recently started encountering this problem as well, after months of error-free usage.

It literally just appeared one day, and no matter what I do, I can't get it to go away. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Elgato software numerous times, to no avail.

I've even reinstalled Windows 7 twice, it worked once, then every other time after that, I'd get the error.

I've installed an older version of the software (v1.22) and that's the same. I've installed the software to a different HDD, still the same. I've changed the permissions on the program folder to ensure full, unrestricted access, still the same.

At the moment, there is nothing I haven't tried, and I'm losing my patience with it. If by the end of the month it's not fixed, I'm going to try and get myself the Roxio Game Capture HD instead... it can't be any worse than the Elgato at the moment.
