It's usually to bypass the spam filter - In which case, just ramble a little bit. It isn't that hard.

And if people sign out with their name for other reasons, wow. just wow.

I usually do it if I'm just writing a one off post, not starting a conversation. I personally don't see a problem with it and I think it makes a post look neat. I can't understand how such a little thing could piss off others but each to their own!
