It's typically recommended that you have a savegame. It seems like there are less problems that way but you don't always need it. But like I said, it is recommended and it's not like it's hard to do.

The flash drive is only used so you can install it. Having the flash drive in your Xbox is a big part of hotswapping the disc, it gives you that time you need to switch the original disc for the modded disc. But no, after you install the modded disc to your hard drive, there is no need for the flash drive unless you have something on it (account, game save, etc.)

Yes, just start off the game as you normally would, make a game save, then proceed with hotswapping and installing the mods to your hard drive.

do you think this will work, go on my other console(non modded) and then create a gamesave off that and put it onto my Flashdrive and copy it onto the modded xbox hardrive?
