i know theres the hd pvr, but which pvr is actually the best.

im also using a macbook pro

Elgato,HD Pvr, HD pvr 2, Avermedia HD

But remember these devices have not been guaranteed to work with next gen consoles. Just check their twitter and see if they are.

Elgato is probably the best capture card, my opinion

Since you have a Macbook, your only option is an Elgato. The Elgato's software is the only one that works with OS X.
The Elgato is the best capture card anyway.

elgato game capture probably, but on the 360 and ps3 the hd pvr's can only record up to 720p so it won't really matter much.
