The human eye can see more than 30fps. The 30fps thing is a myth likely made by people with macs.

The only reason we cant tell that an average movie is running at 25-28fps is because of various film techniques.

I read that the eye had a higher number than thirty but I wasn't sure which to believe. But the more fps the slower it looks so would more not be bad?

Even the 50 fps isn't as smooth as it could be. The human eye is not limited to a certain fps and if you actually looked into it a bit you'd know that.
