Salutations, all.
I recently discovered Cry of Fear due to its recent availability on Steam. It is to date the scariest thing I have every played in my life. I've played Amnesia/Silent Hill and all of the classic horror games, but this game truly takes the cake. If there is anybody who wishes to try the game, it is available on Steam now for free. I highly recommend you try it, but be warned, it is absolutely terrifying.
To those wondering, no, it is not a "jump-scare" game. The environments and sound design make you fell vulnerable, all of the time, and trap you into a never ending cycle of horror.
Move over, Slender Man.

idk, I found it quite horrifying. I've been playing Red Orchestra 2 for the past couple of months, so I havent really been playing horror games a lot. Coming to this after months of killing Nazis scared the crap out of me. I just think its a really fantastic mod that people should try out, now made easier than ever thanks to Steam Greenlight.

If you think that's bad then you gotta try out Whiteday: a Labyrinth Named School. One of the creepiest horror games I've ever played. There's a link up on ThePirateBay with an English patch if you're interested. When/if you do get it, make sure to play on realism difficulty with headphones on in the middle of the night to get the full effect.
