Everything seems good to go, but I would choose Windows 7. I personally like the layout of W7 better than W8.

My personal advice: win 7, but I hate the forced touchscreen look 8 has, so your choice. Also, is the GPU a pci 3.0? If so, I have yet to see an amd motherboard have it, or support from a amd CPU. Overall, good PC for a first, (not so far from mine.), but if you want long run customability, might I suggest going for a 2011 LGA mobo and CPU? Intel just switched socket types, they have been using LGA 1155 since the last gen Celeron/ pentium 3 processors, so more variety of CPU in the long run. Also, most boards have pci express 3.0 for LGA1155 and LGA2011

I have Win8 mainly for one reason fast boot up time it literally takes me like 15 seconds to boot up. But Ive had Windows 8 for about 2-3 months now and not had any issues.

I have windows 7 and my computer boots up faster than my monitors turn on.
The boot up time with either OS's wouldn't be a difference if you have a quality SSD.

I don't have an SSD do you? Because never heard of Win7 booting up that fast without an SSD.

I have an SSD.
All modern builds should have a SSD in it.

Especially for someone who is building their computer now.

Not to hijack your thread, but can I get some advice on an SSD with this system?

Just need it to dual boot into win 7, or Ubuntu 12.X, depending if I am going just be running servers and coding, or defraging (if SSD needs it) in Ubuntu. Win 7 for gaming, so much more variety sadly on win 7

Thanks for all the feedback, I'm still unsure which OS i want. They're supposed to be adding boot to desktop for windows 8 so that might be my choice

Don't get a rose will challenger the cable management is not that great. Go with a corsair carbide 300r, also make sure your power supply is modular. One question, why AMD processor?
