Pizzas arrive to your house quicker than the police do. Shooting someone in self defense isn't sinking to any level. Me and my family own lots of guns.


We all took safety classes and know how to use a weapon in self defense and for hunting use.


Also, Every Sunday, Me and my Older brother and Father go too the gun club too shoot Trap and Skeet. (If you don't know what that is, Google " Trap & Skeet shooting.")



So, I believe every one who wants too own one must take a 4-6week safety course to insure people know how to use a weapon properly and safely. Also too keep them away from the nut-jobs out there.

This comparison between the US and UK is absurd and invalid. You fail to realize that guns/weapons have been a significant part of American culture since before America even existed. When someone comes into your home with a weapon and you have made the decision to protect yourself, you are not sinking to their level, but rather rising to it. If you honestly think letting an intruder have their way with you, your family, and your belongings is the moral high-ground, then I don't know what to say.

You also fail to consider the fact that violent crime will exist without guns, knives, or just blunt objects. That's just human nature and guns are simply a progression in the tools we use to either destroy or protect ourselves. If you seriously believe that the safety of normal people cannot be protected by guns, look to the news and recent history. Note that the people tend to be disarmed so their rights can be violated.

I don't really care about this much since I am in the UK, but if we catch a burglar in our house we are not even allowed to harm them at all! We could get sent to jail over it!
But my opinion on gun control is...
I think that every person should be allowed to own a gun to store in a safe position in the house such as in a gun cabinet that is locked and only used when there are trespassers disrupting land to warn people to get off. If there is an armed robber/burglar in the house who is getting away with your possesions then you should be allowed to disable them (Not severely like in the back, just in the feet or legs then call the cops to handle it).

if someone comes in your house and tries to hurt you/your family? would you throw something at them or would you shoot them with your weapon?and if you see a criminal and they attempt to shoot you and you have a gun on you would you shoot them or would you let them shoot you and get away?my dad has bought me a bushmaster ar-15 and he keeps it in his gun safe...i know the password and keys to it and i know damn well i have been to too many NRA junior camps to let a narrow minded criminal hurt my family...i support gun control and never would i let some stupid government take away my right and my freedom...

If he legitimately thought it was an intruder, then yes. It horrible to see someone go like that, but he isn't at fault if he felt his home and personal being were in danger. Guns save life when they are used against those wishing to do harm. A kid saved himself and his older sister by shooting an intruder. Women are protected from predators daily b using guns. Yes, they help save more than they help kill the innocent. I would be at risk without a gun. To be honest, I am at risk for not having a gun. Other people will always have guns. Black markets are everywhere. They sell guns illegally. People in this country will forever have guns. Me not having a gun doesn't make the risks lower. I'm not out causing trouble with firearms. It's the ones that have them illegally that is the problem. I live in a trailer park. What type of security system would you recommend? These doors can be broken into with ease. Loud noises doesn't stop a criminal that knows what he is doing. Security systems do very little unless you live in an urban neighborhood (or in another place in a good community.) If someone has enough disrespect and is stupid enough to break into my home, whatever happens to them is on their hands. All in all, this isn't even about all of that. Guns are there to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government. It's just incase our government tries to become Nazi Germany or North Korea. Guns makes sure we keep our freedom.
