This is not big news. Another private company is hoping for a mission to mars (going around it) by 2016. And nasa are talking about as early as 2022 putting a man on mars and building settlements.

I couldn't stand 512 days in a spacecraft... I would Kill myself of boredom...

Same, 2 hours on a plane is boring enough. Let alone 512 days in a spacecraft which will probably be less comfortable than a plane.
