These are the specs for a computer I'm going to buy. I'm not looking for the ultimate gaming pc just one that i run basic simple Games like WarZ and DayZ and stuff like that. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

$1700 for that!?
Don't get a laptop. Its overpriced as it is. It has an i7, which is pointless for gaming, and it has a sh*t GPU.
Build a Pc yourself.

From what I saw from the specs, it looked like 2gb of ram... that won't run much. Alienware, is overprice. So are all prebuilt Desktops/Laptops. But it is good.

I don't know what all the necessary stuff and or where to start. And I know they are really over priced but it just seemed easier to buy one.

Easier is not always better, the only problem people have is they don't look for compatibility before buying. You can always look things up on Youtube, or ask our members here if you get stuck in the building process. But, building your own computer is always the better choice, as YOU choose what you want to put into it.
