This has usually been the case, but with the release of new consoles, it will be immediately cheaper to get an Xbox, but after the yearly subs (assuming you pay yearly, if you pay monthly or something it'll be even more) It costs significantly more.

HarmfulMushroom wrote My current PC specs are still much better than the new consoles, (For the price I paid for some of the components they had damned well better be better..). I'm more of an Xbox fan myself, and the more I hear about this new console the less interested I become. I've been trying to slowly switch over to PC games so I can sell my consoles for a while, but most of my friends only had xbox so I haven't made much progress. But I hate how inflexible consoles are, after I clear a game I want to install mods to just **** around. It's very difficult to do on consoles, that's why I built my gaming rig.

I personally would recommend getting the PC as it can always be upgraded as technology advances. It has more support for customizing and the installation of mods than consoles. But, as several people have brought up more people tend to have game consoles. If you like to game with friends you may want to hold out for the next gen xbox. Just some stuff to consider.

Plus, I'm a huge fan of the possibility of virtual reality gaming, and the newest product the Oculus Rift will only have PC support. I can kiss what little social life I have good bye once it's released hah..

This is exactly why I posted this, with the release of new consoles, the price of a PC vs. total console cost will be a lot higher. Plus with upgradability, mods, better controls, and task manager(much better than having to restart your console if you get a freeze ) It shouldn't be too hard to convince friends to get a PC instead of an Xbox. That still of course depends on the kind of people your friends are. Very casual gamers will still get an Xbox or PS4.

I prefer PC, but does it honestly matter that much?

Arguing isn't going to win you anything. If you want to play Xbox or PS, play that. If you want to play on PC, play on that.

Constantly whining about which is better is pointless and annoying as hell.
