r00t wrote What's wrong with your Antec unit? Antec is one of the good guys in the PSU industry and, if the wattage is enough and it has the right connectors, you should keep it. What are your specs?

Idk why I said antec, it is an apevia. Current specs are an i3 2130 and a 7770 GHz Edition but I will be getting the 7870 Tahiti LE when my taxes come in in a week or two.

Apevia, yeah, ditch it. This is a nice deal until the code expires on the 23rd: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Would the hive not be better though? Somewhat recently you said that the hive was the way to go.

The prices change all the time and the 550w HIVE unit isn't even available anymore. That's why I tell people to wait until right before they order to ask for advice.
Yeah I know but I am litterally just waiting on the ok for which one to get and I will be buying it. So should I get the 650w hive or the XFX Core?

The XFX unit will cost you $56 if you don't do the $15 rebate and the HIVE unit will cost you $80. 550w is better-suited to your system and you'd get better efficiency. XFX gives you a 5-year warranty as opposed to the 3-year one from Rosewill. However, the HIVE is modular, but that's really all it has going for it over the XFX unit for you. I'd say get the XFX unit, absolutely.

There's no reason for him to buy that over the 550w variant.
