I've always supported guns, but just thinking about it today. Why the hell do you need them? The only logical reason is for protection, which makes sense, but what's wrong with security cameras? Tazers? Learning self defense? Pepper spray?

My dad lives in New Jersey. He was in the army for like 5 years, yet he doesn't own a gun. I've never asked him why, but it makes sense now. There's more chance of getting shot if you have a gun in your house. Simple really.

Guns generate 50 billion in revenue for business in America, now think of the amount in taxes that brings in. If guns were banned thousands of companies would lose billions in revenue and would have to dispose of the now illegal weapons which couldn't improve our economy and workers would lose their jobs. A gun buy back wouldn't work because many guns are street guns that are acquired illegally. I do not support guns, I just hate when people think it is as simple as passing a law.

So, guns are the one thing that is keeping America afloat?

Where did I say that? I'm simply stating, that with the economy as it is, and our unbelievable debt, we need all the help we can get, and 50 billion is nothing to shrug off.

How can you say it wouldn't? It clearly would. As I said, there hasn't been a mass shooting in a school in the UK for 40 years ever since we banned guns.

We better ban cars, and sex, and fast food then, cause STDs, diabetes, and car accidents kill people too. Come on guys, look at the statistics, guns only amount to 40% of homicides in the US. Death is just something that happens. It tragic when 20 children get shot, or 70 people get shot at a movie theater, but attempting to ban firearms isnt going to help the situation. If somebody feels the need to kill a bunch of people, stricter gun laws wont stop them from doing it. Even if guns were completely removed from society murder is still going to be something we are going to have to deal with.
