ok so my laptop has been running really slow, its not even a year old yet, its a dell inspiron 1440, so i called dell to see if they could find out what the problem was and how they could fix it. so after 4 hours of talking to agents they took over my computer so they could find out what was wrong. after doing that for a 1/2 hour he told me that with the warranty i purchased(a complete coverage, parts labor software) i would have to buy a $200 warranty(a little less then half of what i paid for the laptop new) so he could re-download all the software that was previously installed incorrectly. so pretty much they want me to pay them $200 so they can fix what they did wrong. WTF

Welcome to the world of production line systems. This sort of thing is not un common im afraid, did you ever try factory reseting the system?
