Please explain why you think it is or isn't worth purchasing! Also, how does it compare to previous maps?

It actually is worth it.
It's the original zombie style map (opening doors to continue) with A LOT of new features and weapons, and it's also the biggest map in the history of zombies.
But I don't think you should buy Revolution for Die Rise, in my case, I'm a multiplayer AND a zombies player, so it gives it more worth.
I bought the season pass, I really think you should but it too, trust me, it's worth it!
