I have a dell XPS 410, its about 6-7 years old...no upgrades have been made to this computer, it is factory stock..

when i press the power button i hear this buzzing noise and the numbers 3 and 4 are lit green on the front of the computer system. it buzzes about 6 times for about 3-4 seconds. i have tried removing the single cell battery from the motherboard, multiple times. no luck.. it sounds like the noise is coming from the power supply but i am not certain.

this has happened before but eventually i was able to get my cpu running.

help please

Beeps or buzzing?
Because if its a beep either your ram is bad, or your bios battery is dead and needs a new one

Go on to the dell website, or type it in on google, theres a section about diagnostics lights and what they mean - it doesnt sound like a bad motherboard - more like a components died or came loose
