Fighting this price any lower would result in huge performance losses, although the graphics card alone comes with a $40 rebate. Let me know if it's a problem, though[/quote]

Okay well after i got the shipping costs in (4.99) for all of it. the tax added a extra 63.50$ if SOMEHOW you could shave it down to a near 500$ would be awesome! if not i will have to wait for a bit for some sales.

Heartwood wrote Hey r00t, just a quick build, nice and easy for you. A family member wants a computer that'll just run well for him. He's got a computer currently, but has run into many problems. It's an AMD athlon x2 @3 GHz and a 250GB WD Sata HDD

Yeah, it's terrible. 4 years old and the temperature reaches a good 79 degrees centigrade. Yuh.

So he could do with a new one, just something simple, which will work ALL day (it's never turned off as it's used for work 12 hours a day.

Budget & Currency: 350 GBP

Peripherals & Monitor: Yes, just a monitor 21.5"

Games: None

Software: Nothing

Aesthetics: None

Rebates/Promos: Yes

Details: As above EDIT - ALSO A WIFI CARD IF POSSIBLE

When: ASAP

Over-budget because I wanted to get that A75 chipset included. If that's an issue, just tell me.

I believe there is RAM missing? I'm going to get rid of the DVD drive as already have one. We just got a USB wifi dongle as well.

Brilliant though, thanks!

Oh, and one more thing, got some thermal paste today for the CPU, as well as 2 fans for the case. Installing them in a bit as the screwdrivers have gone for a walkies somewhere :|

Thanks!

I knew that list looked too short... Go with one of these two.

Also you can mount those fans with zip-ties or even twist-ties for the time being!

Try swapping the motherboard and CPU combo for these.

Recently just started building the pc I ordered.

Everything is powered up to my knowledge.
But nothing appears on the screen. I know my graphics card has power, as the fans are running.

The only beeps I get on start up are from my cd drive.

Any idea what the issue could be?

Need help yet again, the graphics card that you suggested for me is out of stock and I am in need of one that is basically as good as it for around the same price.

Here's the build you recommended to me.

Yep. I don't believe that one was in stock when I recommended the MSI card.

I'm looking for a monitor that will support portrait mode for graphics and programming. What would you recommend for about $70-120?

Is your monitor plugged into the graphics card and on the right input setting?

Have you tried it without the graphics card and plugged the monitor into the integrated graphics?

Did you install all your standoffs?

What display connector are you using?

Sorry for all the questions but I have to narrow it down.

I can't find any with a stand that supports portrait. You also definitely want IPS for any graphics work, so I'd save up twenty bucks and get this one:

Such a great price for a nice E-IPS panel.

The RAM is fine, but it's still a waste of money considering memory bandwidth has negligible effects on 1155 systems and minimal effects on APU systems when integrated graphics are not being used.

What you have there will work, yes, but you can spend a lot less and get the same performance.
