Over the holiday weekend, a new worm virus popped up on Facebook. This time, it's the "Like Button Worm" that has been finding its way through various accounts on Facebook.

If you clicked on it and followed through, it is likely that you are now aware that you fell for to the scam. It's the latest in a long line of "clickjacking" efforts by scammers on the Internet.

According to sophos.com, webpages are infected by a virus called Troj/Iframe-ET. Some of the clickable messages that might appear on your friend's Facebook page for you to go ahead and "LIKE" are:

"LOL This girl gets OWNED after a POLICE OFFICER reads her STATUS MESSAGE."

"This man takes a picture of himself EVERYDAY for 8 YEARS!!"

"The Prom Dress That Got This Girl Suspended From School."

"This Girl Has An Interesting Way Of Eating A Banana, Check It Out!"

If you click "Like" to any of these (there are many more), you will come to a blank page that instructs you to "Click to Continue".

Hopefully, many are now more aware of clickjacking worms and viruses and that clicking on that blank page will be an instant nightmare. If you do click it, a similar cheesy message will post to your own Facebook page, enabling more people to click the wormy link...and so on.

If you have been hit in the latest clickjacking attack on Facebook, go into your Facebook account and view the recent activity on your news feed.

Delete entries related to any of the above messages. As an added step, take a closer look at your profile. Go to the info tab and remove any of the unwanted pages from your "Likes and interests" section.
