So I just bought this very nice 24" monitor, It's Asus VE247H (link to it [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ) to replace my old 18,5" Acer whatever.

It's so much better with the new one but I was wondering (because a buddy mentioned something like that or I might've heard worng) that you could have for example Battlefield 3 on 1 monitor and your desktop + other tabs on the other one. Is that possible? and how do I set it up with my new + old monitor if it is?
I am running on Win7 and my Asus is connected to the external GPU of my PC via a DVI cable while my old monitor uses a VGA connection (not connected to my PC now)

+rep for help

If your graphics card has both DVI and VGA, just plug it in and it should work. You can run games on one monitor but your mouse will be bound to the game window until you ALT+TAB out of it.

it doesnt have VGA but it came with a VGA to DVI adapter so I should be able to do it.
Will this affect gaming performance?

Nope, you're still running the game at the same resolution on the main monitor.
