r00t wrote Neither. You can do better than both with the Brainwavz HM5, Ultrasone HFI-580, and more.

If you had to choose one of them?

I'd save up for the Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro if I could, but of those two, I'd buy the HFI-580 because they'd be more portable. If I didn't need them to be portable, I'd get the HM5.

Didn't help me at all

Why not? If you don't want to save up for something nicer, then go with the Custom Pro. If you're impatient, go with the HFI580.

Oh wait, you tried the DT1350. How were those? I've read so much bad about the T50P, I almost want a pair just for that.

Less bass than the HD25, close to neutral. The headband seems like it's designed to rip your hair off. The treble is somewhat close to neutral. The fit is alright apart from the hair ripping part.

If you're going to be using these while you play, you'll want closed.

The Jaycar Pro Monitors are just over $60, but they're rebranded Yoga CD880s, which are the same as the Fischer FA-003 and Brainwavz HM5, and more. You'll notice these are much more expensive. So for the price, the Jaycars are just ridiculously good.

The Xeport 5010 punches way above its weight and you won't need the amp for them.

The PL21 should be very good for you. The sound should be good for your music and they're pretty durable.
