Halo 4: Kills & Deaths. Do You Really Care?

Overview
Just like all shooters the main objectives are to kill the opposite team. But do people really care for their kill to death ratio? Or even how many kills and deaths they have at all?

Kills & Deaths
Many players throughout halo or any shooter thrive on their kill to death ratio, players work very hard to achieve more kills to their deaths, this is used as a trophy to show off in front of other players, or some people just don't realize theirs is good. This information is usually accessible by other players in game. Having a poor kill death ratio can sometimes cause grief from other players, it can lead to bullying and harassment (in extreme cases)

Kill Death Ratio Explained

A kill death ratio is calculated by taking all of the players kills and dividing it by their deaths. E.G 1200 kills - 830 deaths = A positive kill death ratio of 1.44. Any thing over the kill death mark of '1' or '1.00' is positive, anything under is negative, meaning you have more deaths than kills.

Do You Really Care?
Do you really care for kill to death ratio's? personally if I enjoy a game I just like to play the game as silly as it sounds I wont be worried how many kills I get to deaths I get, but I usually find myself in the top 3 players most games, and develop good kills to deaths which is a bonus. I would not go out of my way to get a good kill to death ratio unless I gained something.

Kills And Deaths On Halo
When playing halo if you click onto a player and choose their service record and go to there war games tab, you can see how many kills and deaths the player have. Personally I like to see if the player has more kills to deaths, as this helps to indicate if the player is any good (or lucky haha) This allows me to choose a game plan whether it be take it slowly or just get dem headshots. I also like to see how many kills the same leveled players have to determine which players are the better ones or just to see as a comparison to my own level.

Thank You For Reading !

Honestly, in my own opinion, the only people who worry or care about K/D are middle school aged introverts and douchy sports players who think they're so cool because they play Call of Duty and buy sports games(which kinda defeats the whole purpose of sports in general). The objective is to win, not focus on killing AFKers and lone gunmen. My K/D is ok (like 1.1) but I focus on winning more. That's why I only play objective game mods with the occasional SWAT. What really annoys me is the people who have 2.96 K/D's but 0.26 W/L's and think they're good because they can kill you but not carry a flag or drive worth a sh*t.

I care to a point. As long as I'm not weighing my team down having lots of deaths it's good enough. People that just go for kills are just ridiculous. @Spaceman_Stu , Completely agree with the K/D W/L thing. This is most apparent in Gears of War 3 for me, but also Halo 4. You can easily tell who actually plays objective and as a team

Yup, I care. Its more important to me than a win/lose ratio because even if I lose, I'll still get the same amount of credits as the players who won pretty much so why not try and do better than everyone else?

In terms of kills course

Some really good comments here guys. I have to admit I like to help the team out as much as I can and I also enjoy the xp at the end of the match haha.

halo4 you made a good comment, yeah true getting the kills up and still losing gives you some nice xp, but its always nice to win ;)

Thanks for taking the time to read

Well I really don't care for my kd but tht is because I play objective games. Games where you can get a good kd along the way but mostly wins loss ratio up. Most of the time if u win u go positive but not me cuz I mostly rush objective.
