Apparently there is a safe box outside of the vault in which if you crouch and knife it you will have the ability to deposit 1000 of your own points, which will then spawn a 1000 point power up that a friend can pick up. Video showing the safety box location:

Attempted to verify by playing tranzit with easy difficulty. At least with that custom setting the knifing did not work, another user had stated that the knuckles might be what is required, so will try to verify that later while also playing normal difficulty.

Confirmed. Must use knuckles on the safety box just one time and you will be able to trade. Anyone can use it at that point.
