I have a xbox now, and was doing some research on the Playstation 3. I HATE paying for xbox, because I usually forget and/or dont have enough money to pay for it at the time. Could someone tell me if there really is any difference between the xbox and PS3 (Besides the Controller). I really need some help deciding if I should get a PS3, or keep my xbox.

If you can't afford xbox live then just buy a PS3 simply as that.

Obviously there will be some differences like:
Security
Network
Design
Graphic Styles
Dashboard/Home Menu Styles.
Xbox in my opinion is a FAR better choice, in every aspect. People complain about the fact that you buy xbox live, but really? Its only $50 a YEAR. THATS IT.
When you think about it, its not alot at all.
A few pros about xbox, is the fact that its alot more secure for one. The features of xbox are out of this world compared to PS3.
Internet Explorer app. [along with thousands of other apps]
Built in Bing search engine on the dashboard.
Xbox live parties/private chats.
Multiple movie network apps.
Thousands of indie/mini games in the marketplace.
Movie marketplace with many movies [ALOT]
Music Marketplace, including Zune [ALOT of music]
Game marketplace with almost every game.
Avatars [charactors] and games using them in them.
and SO much more! I cant even explain how much I love it.
It feels like an open world of everythinng to me, theres ads on the dashboard [which I actually enjoy]
the ads in which are sometimes videos, for movies, new game releases, etc. just sitting there to be seen, playing by themselves and everything, but audio isnt played untill you are hovering over it.
But yeah, thats just a little bit of it. not even close to all.

I do agree with the standpoint of uhMerked but then again it matters what you are into.
PS3 is a better choice in my opinion simply because of the wider selection of games. Such as More FF than just 13 and 13-2.
