no because mine went down and my dads ps3 downstairs didnt
mine is back up and running try this it doesnt reset anything i did

go onto main ps3 menu
go along to where it says users
and click turn off system
wait till system is fully turned off
hold down ps3 button dont let go
u will here 3 beeps wait till the 3 rd
beep
and ur ps3 should turn off
and reapete that
but on the 3rd beep u should here 2 beeps at
the same time
and it should come on
with join controlla with
cable a.k.a charger
and one u click that
u should see writing with
numbers on the side
go to the 1 witch
says number 4
and it should come up with hdmi cable or something
just keep on accepting it
and it should say rebuilding and then it should come on and
and can sign in

ok i tryed my way and it worked but thats coo l people have 2 ways to get back online

My ps3 is fine I saw the post so I checked my ps3 and I singed in straight away it might bet the connection or the time zone manybe

i dont know what your talking about for me it hasn't been down in months.
