So ive been seeing that a lot of people have been having trouble with a bug that will let you adopt children, but they wont go to you're house, they just sit there and say "Just..just let me get my things and say goodbye to everyone and i'll meet you at home..thanks, thanks again". I might have found a solution to this bug.

Also, you have to be married to do this.

reload a save from before you tried to adopt children. If you dont have a save from that far back, then you're gonna have to wait and hopefully Bethesda will patch this.

first, make sure you have beds & chests for the children at you're new Hearthfire home BEFORE you try to adopt any children.

Then go to a house that you owned before Hearthfire was released (i used my house in Windhelm, i *think* it will work with any home), if you didn't have one you'll need to buy one. Fully furnish it, buy everything, including a child's bedroom area. You can get a child's bedroom area from the steward of the Jarl of which ever city you purchased you're house.

move you're spouse into the old house, you can do this by speaking with them and telling them that you wold like to move somewhere else.

Wait a few in game days for you're spouse to move into the house, make sure you confirm that they moved in, sometimes it takes a while.

Now you're ready to adopt the children, BUT MAKE SURE That you send them to you youre old home, NOT THE HEARTHFIRE HOME.

Go to which ever house you sent the children to, wait a day or so. (it could take up to 3 in game days for the kids to get there.

Once they show up, to the house, speak to you're spouse again, and tell them that you would like to move somewhere else.

This time select one of you're new Hearthfire houses, you're spouse *Should* say something along the lines of "Okay, let me get everything ready and i'll meet you there".

The goal here is to force the kids to go to the new hearthfire house by making you're spouse move into the new home, they *should* follow him/her to the new house, and hopefully the you can get around this bug.

This worked for me, after searching the internet for a work around, and finding nothing but trailers, and useless information about the DLC. Hopefully it works for you too.

Has anyone confirmed this to be working?

Also, my kids worked fine when I adopted them.

Just make sure you buy all the bedroom furnishings before adopting the child.. Thats what I did.
