So after having many problems with Sony Vegas Pro 11, I decided to get Movie Studio Platinum 11. However, I'm getting the same exact problem. Whenever I use the program for a few minutes, it will stop responding. If I'm quick enough to get all the videos in, adjust/sync sound levels, and render it, it stops the Render at 1-4% everytime, and stays there, while the "Estimated Time" will continue to count down, but nothing happens when it reaches 0:00:00. So I'm now starting to think it's a hardware problem, because I've spent the last week trying new things, and nothing has worked. I'm not sure what could be the problem, if anyone could help, that would be amazing, thanks!

Here are my specs if that can be the issue, but I don't think it is.
AMD Phenom II 965 BE
8GB G-Skill Ripjaws Ram
Radeon 7770
A 500GB HDD with about 300GB of space remaining.

Sony Vegas is a very irritating program. I used to go get on my feet as an editor, but then dropped it. From my experience, it is resource hungry. And very much so. I've never edited a video on anything but an i7 920 and my current setup a 3770k.
What's your CPU/ram usage when you render videos? And can I ask what your render settings are?

CPU is 25-35%.
RAM is about 20%.

And I don't do anything special, I use the default "Sony AVC Internet 1280x720-30P", but I've tried tweaking the preferences from video and text tutorials online many times, but the same thing happens every time. :/

That's the usage when you're rendering? Interesting. Update your video drivers and try to find better render settings. Depending on what you're doing you'll need different settings.

Wait, my bad, I accidentally put the usage of using the program in general, not rendering. Sorry haha. When Rendering, CPU is at about 75%, and Memory at about 40%. Btw, when the rendering gets paused at that 4%, the CPU usage goes back down to 30%, not sure if that's useful information or not.

Generally Sony Vegas gives me problems. Whether it be crashes or anything, it's a b*tch of a program. Honestly if it's not working for you the best solution is moving on to Adobe editing programs or dealing with Sony Vegas. Your pick, good luck
