I haven't made anything in quite a while, but I've been working on my Photoshop skills rather than Cinema 4D to broaden my horizons. To keep it short and sweet, I made this from scratch and put a decent amount of time into this. I would love to get some actual CnC so that I may further my skill within the program. Thanks, hope you enjoy.

Badly bevel and embossed shapes with shadows going in all directions.

Needs more work really.

nothing bevel or embossed, all made by hand. but please explain what "more work" means. and could you please point out the shadows that aren't following the lightsource? I tried pretty hard to keep them consistent. (i can tell triangles' shadows are off :/ )

I'm going to give you real feedback Hoping you will do the same when i post my next c4d piece as your really the only person on this site that can...
the Yellow Soft brush on the lower right circle in the middle looks a bit weird it doesn't match up with the rest of the picture. I think you should stick to the same Beige color you used on the rim of the other circles.

Also i reccomend you make the Orbs or whatever you were attempting make More interface style And add an inner shadow with a slight choke and size between 15-20. Then you can add lighting effect and shadows afterwords.

I reccomend dropping the opacity on the lines as they really don't look very clean. the lighting on the triangles doesn't really seem to make sense as on everything else you added lighting to the rims but 80% of the triangle seems lit up.
Another thing is you could add more to the shadows start off by lowering the opacity on them a bit. The way you setup the lighting it seems as though there are multiple light sources Which i'm not sure if that was intentional or not. For example The entire outside rim of the center collaborative of circles Is all Edged with light It doesn't look realistic. something that helps me when i work with lighting is creating a Simple sphere wherever my imaginative light source is and making arrows where the light is travelling and working from there. it helps make the peace have a realism to it.

One last thing is i like the soft Gradient in the background its very subtle and compliments the piece but i feel as though you could have done more with it as its bland and boring just anything to liven it up a bit Yet still keep the center focal. Just some thoughts Hoping later on you will return the favor.

This... this is exactly what I was looking for. When I set it up, I meant for 2 light sources, the one behind all the spheres, and then a soft light from our perspective of viewing (almost a frontal light to illuminate everything, kinda implied to exist in order to see the piece, but I tried to emphasize it slightly). As for your tips to lighting, I actually used the sphere and arrow trick before lol, normally on a sticky note stuck to the screen to keep my piece neat. Certain things you said I can't fix such as adding the inner shadow on the main spheres (I merged the main spheres layer for easier management), but I will be taking your other notes into consideration as I fix it up, hopefully I can get 1 more comment like this so I will be sure of what areas need to be fixed and what look fine as is. and trust me, I have been trying to post on threads around here, but I've been suspended for the past 30 days. But I've been keeping up with peoples post (kinda). Next time you post something, PM me and I'll be more than happy to critic it to help you out.

Other users, these are the comments you are meant to be leaving on peoples works, not stupid ratings, or requests.
