Well it all depends how much time you are going to put into learning it each day. It took me less that a week to learn HTML/CSS, but then again its pretty easy. But im still learning Java and its took me 6 months so far and i can write small programs but nothing big. Good luck with python!

What do you mean by learn? If you mean the entire language, it will take years. That is true for almost any language. Though python does have a lower learning curve compared to C++. It is just around the same hardness of C#/VB. If you just want to learn the basics, and can google the rest you can learn most of the stuff within 2 months or so. The rest of the task is using the Python API and other things.

Also CodeAcademy has a basic Python course up now.

Python is a very easy language to learn, you can learn it like in 2 months.
Download Notepad ++ and then you can easily code, but python is made for scripts not programs
