So my tv is old and sometimes the picture wire comes unplugged from the circuit board. So I went to go plug it back in and the av wires to my Xbox had extras that hang off the tv. So when I opened the tv and put it upside down the extra av wire touched one of the soutered metal that sticks up off the bottom of the circuit board and it sparked and the Xbox went off. I tried turning it back on and it stayed on for a little then it went out again i did it a few more times then I finally got red rings. 3 of them so now when I turn it on the fan sounds very loud then two red lights go on and the fan turns off. Idk what's the problem with it so I am asking if anyone knows the problem so that way I can figure out how to fix it cause I'm good with stuff like that! So thanks for the help!

When two red lights turn on, it means there's a hardware problem usually from within the actual device. I would assume that when the two wires struck, it sent an electrical current through the wire, to the inside of your xbox, either overcharging or breaking something inside. You might need a new xbox...

Remove the hard drive and any games in side then get 3 towels and wrap the xbox inside the 3 towels while doing this leave your xbox on. It should overheat after 30-35 minutes take out your xbox and it should have 2 red rings this means its oveheated (this is good) and then leave your xbox to cool for 10-15 turn your xbox off while doing this! hope this helps

Do not do this, very bad for the xbox. Especially since the problem is not a bridged solder joint in this case.

It sounds like it is just overheating though, 2 red lights means overheating and its guaranteed when the fan starts spinning max speed. Try leaving it off for, I don't know, maybe an hour and see if that helps at all.

If it doesn't help at all, it sounds like something was damaged by the excess current sent to the xbox.

Also, I forgot to leave that you should try getting the secondary error code as that would help.

Idk cause it's sounds like I short circuited the Xbox through the charge the av wire sent so maybe it's telling me that it thinks Its overheating but really the machine is malfunctioning and doesn't realize it I think I should just call Microsoft! Thanks for your help anyway
