i would say the most common cause of this problem is the type of disc you are using. verbatim discs are the best quality and are compatible with all dvd drives. are you using verbatim or another type of dual-layer disc?

im using memorex but is there a way i can burn it with this type any settings i can change in the I/O directory

Find out what speeds your "Supported Write Speeds" are the burn it at the lowest setting.

that's usually the first good fix.

You have to burn it at 2.4x

Here is the main reason. You drive is not DUAL-LAYER supportive! That was the problem with mine until, I replaced the drive with DUAL-LAYER drive
