Ok so i am going to get back my desktop which was sent to a friend to fix and he said it needed a new harddrive so i realized i need a faster computer anyways so i was going to get some stuff upgraded on it and was wondering can i just upgrade stuff and not mess anything up or is there limits to what i can upgrade so far this is what im going to buy and upgrade on it.

dont ask for my computer specs now because i dont know until i get it back monday.
but im just wondering can i buy these products and put them in my desktop now or do i need a whole new computer for this.?

It looks like you can upgrade everything there, I'm just not sure about the CPU and ram speed. Just make sure your mobo is LGA 1155 and it supports RAM at 1600MHz.

You say don't for the specs as you don't know but we need to know :S. Anyway, what are you going to use the computer for? If you want to game on it you would more than okay with an i3 2100 or 2120. There you would save money and buy a better graphics card, or if your power supply is a piece of crap you should definitely buy a good one. Make sure you're PSU has enough wattage to support your GPU and make sure its not some cheap Modecom psu or something scrap like that. If you were going to stick with the CPU you chose then I'd suggest changing that 550ti to a 7770. That RAM has a speed of 1600mhz. If your motherboard doesn't support 1666 there isn't any point buying that ram as you will just be having to run it at 1333. I suggest you just get 8gb of 1333 corsair xms3. The HDD is Fine
