dude2410 wrote guys your over thinking this a bit and just guessing. To check if it's the card or a high level OSI problem, try pinging your router. If you need steps on how to ping your router, just ask. Otherwise, please reply with the result of the ping.
yea help with that all the others didn't work

ok, then here is what you are going to have to do.

1) Open your start menu.
2) Type "CMD" into the box on the bottom and press enter.
A black box should appear.
3) Type "ipconfig" and press enter.
look through the information you are given for "default gateway" and note the address.
4) type "ping XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX" but replace the "X"'s with the default gateway noted above.

Then just post here the output of the command. (the text that appears)

would you mind taking a screenshot of what is displayed in the prompt?

If you don't know how to take screenshots, I'd recommend using Gyazo, which can be found here: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Unplug your modem and router. Then plugin the modem FIRST and 5 seconds after plug your router back in. Wait a couple of minuets for them to configure. After that restart your laptop and try connecting.

If that doesnt work you might need to update your routers firmware. If a problem still occurs contact your internet service provide.
