The snipers I've found best are: sv98, m40 and the m98b all of which unlocked via ranking recon up for some reason I find acogs and holographic sights seem to get more 1hit kos

Being a sniper for quite awhile in Battlefield 3, I would greatly recommend playing hardcore for 1-Shot kills. Believe me, it's all i play and i always get 1-shot kills.Well that is because i use the JNG-90 and it's probably the most powerful sniper out right now. I also highly recommend using an ACOG and a silencer on any of your rifles. That combo on any rifle is killer. You won't get spotted because it's hardcore, and you won't pop up on the mini map. Also don't be afraid to use the ACOG because trust me. You won't need a 12x to kill someone across the map.

its not just the sniper you can get one hit kills with any of the bolt action snipers if you hid mid chest area and up, if you shoot someone in the foot there not gonna die like in call of duty.

If you want one hit kills then you need to use bolt action snipers because all bolt action have a one hit kill capability with a headshot and, up close, a chest shot. I would have to say the best bolt action is the M98B because it does the most damage of all sniper rifles. Most snipers, if not all, are unlocked by using the recon class and upgrading it.
