Massachusetts man trolls the loan association by paying off mortgage payment in pennies.

Thomas Daigle delivered a pair of boxes to the steps of Milford Federal Savings and Loan Association this April that contained more than 62,000 pennies, which he had collected for the past 35 years, to make the last payment on the home he and his wife, Sandra, bought when they married in 1977.

So he began collecting an average of 2.5 pennies per day and placing them into a grape crate. But after a few years, the box began to break due to the overbearing weight. So he bought a pair of steel military rocket launcher ammo boxes to hold the pennies.

By the time he delivered them to the bank he estimated that each box weighed more than 400 pounds.

Daigle tells the newspaper's Derek McLean that he just wanted to make the last payment "memorable," and began collecting an average of 2.5 pennies a day.

It's just an average. Most likely not going to be a perfect number.
