So what i wanted to do was combine 4 videos into 1 so the top, bottom, left, and right, would all be a different video. like when you have 4 player split screen like that how would i end up doing this.

1.open up after effects cs6
2. make a new solid 1280x720
3. import all 4 clips
4. drag all the clips in to the comp which has the solid in it
5. scale the clips so there all the same size then move them fill up the solid
6. adjust them if there to big or small
7. render in 720p hd 1280x720

1280x720 is not 1080p.

1920x1080 is 1080p. And don't use 1080i, that means interlace. You want a progressive scan, so 1080p. Interlace is old and needs to be de-internalced when rendered.
